Description
Jemison Park Nature Trail, situated 7 miles southeast of Birmingham in Mountain Brook, offers a 2.4-mile round-trip, out-and-back experience rated as easy. Voted the region’s top walking and running path in 2018 by AL.com and Birmingham Magazine, the trail features wide, well-maintained walkways and scenic creek crossings. Shaded by tree tunnels and adorned with wildflowers from March to June, it provides a serene atmosphere with the gentle sounds of Shades Creek. Highlights include the historic Old Mill with its picturesque waterwheel and bridge. Mostly paved and accessible for strollers and wheelchairs, the trail is dog-friendly, though pets should be leashed due to nearby roads. Limited parking is available along the roadside.
