The latest addition to Mercer Street Hospitality’s (Bowery Meat Company, Hancock St, Bar Tulix) buzzy portfolio is Smyth Tavern. Located on the ground floor of the Smyth Tribeca hotel and led by MSH owner John McDonald, the 100-seat interior is decorated with old-school and tavern-inspired touches like dark mahogany paneling, red leather banquettes, and a rotating display of local artwork. In the kitchen, classic dishes range from Broiled Oysters and Crispy Calamari to a New York Strip and the specialty Smyth Burger (bacon onion jam, onion ring).
